Scott Horscroft

The glaringly sophisticated mixing production of The Presets' recent #1 album, Apocalypso, seems a rather handy place to begin illustrating Sydney's Producer de jour, Scott Horscroft's production abilities.

Able to not only transform an artistic vision into a sonic work of art, but to go beyond that and effortlessly create something singularly brilliant and breathtaking, Scott has now worked with a number of high calibre Australian artists, counting APRA SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR, Daniel Johns - whose track 'Straight Lines' recently earned APRA SONG OF THE YEAR and MOST PLAYED AUSTRALIAN WORK - The Presets (#1 Aria Charts), The Panics (Triple J Album of the Year) and Sleepy Jackson among his credits.

Scott matches his host of production credits and ARIA awards with an impressive academic history. An Honours degree in Visual Arts, a course in Digital Sound, and studies of Virtual Installations in Finland saw Scott achieve a comprehensive academic foundation in art and music. From there Scott took to lecturing at a variety of colleges and universities, specializing in music composition, sound design, production techniques, music technology and experimental video also spending time on the other side of the studio wall, working on his conceptual sound performances and pieces such as 8 Guitar Compositions. Scott then made the logical progression into composition and production and began working as a mixer, engineer and producer at Big Jesus Burger, one of Australia's premier studios, going on to become one of Australia's busiest young producers.

With Scott's significant accomplishments increasingly recognized across the globe, the Sydneysider looks to make an even bigger splash in the Production pool throughout 2008 and beyond.

Chris Townend

Chris started BJB 14 years ago in Sydney's Redfern and has built the studio from the ground up. He has been at the current Surry Hills location for 11 years.

With over two decades experience working with local and international artists his insight into record production is second to none. Chris has a strong musical background performing in his own groups Sun, Kiss My Poodles Donkey and Mayo (among others) and with his wide appreciation of all styles of music he has become a sought after Producer and Engineer.

From tracking live orchestras to film scores to punk rock to mastering, Chris has developed a vast depth of knowledge of both his equipment and the music at hand.

Burke Reid

For the past ten years, Burke has been a member of the band Gerling. Within that time he has written and produced 4 albums with them, toured the world and been nominated for 3 ARIA's. With his experience in composition and recording the next logical step was to get on the other side of the glass and share his knowledge with up and coming bands.

Having started at BJB a little over a year ago, he has since then dived into the world of producing, recording and mixing with bucket loads of enthusiasm. His abilities to encourage artists to give their best and search for unique sounds have lead to many fun and interesting studio adventures.

Very passionate and committed, he is no stranger at going the distance for where a song needs to go.

Berkfinger maintains a keen interest in writing, performing and recording as a musician himself, drumming for indie heroes THE CRUSTACEANS and fronting pop sensation the PHILADELPHIA GRAND JURY.

Robert Conley

Robert Conley is an American Producer / Songwriter currently living in Sydney. As a Programmer and Engineer working alongside Uber-Producer Walter Afanasieff, Robert had the opportunity to work with some of the worlds biggest superstars including: Beyonce, Celine Dion, Ricky Martin, Christina Aguilera, Carlos Santana, Destiny's Child, Darren Hayes, Jessica Simpson, Marc Anthony, Placido Domingo, Josh Groban and others.

Since moving to Sydney in 2008 he has worked with a wide range of Australian talent, co-writing and co-producing 'Spaceship' for rapper 'Phrase' and co-writing and producing the Axle Whitehead hit 'I Don't Do Surprises'. He played a key role in the development of Sydney based band 'Amy Meredith', co-writing 6 tracks and co-producing the entire album including their breakthrough singles 'Pornstar' and 'Lying'. He has also co-written the #1 Aria smash 'Just Say So' with Brian Mcfadden and has co-produced the Brian Mcfadden / Delta Goodrem single 'Mistakes' . He has co-written and co-produced a large portion of Brian Mcfaddens forthcoming 'Wall of Soundz' album. He was also a co-writer / co-producer on the Darren Hayes album 'The Tension and the Spark', co-writing the hit single 'Popular'..

Robert is a true artist in his own right and has been capable of writing highly accessible songs across many different genres of music.
